This week’s topic is Top 10 Books Read This Year and honestly, I think I’m going to find this post the easiest because I have only completed 11 so far ! 😀
You can click on the images to check out my ramblings on the books.
Before I go to the top ten, a quick mention of the one book I am leaving out in the process of choosing 10 out of 11.
Now coming to the top 10 !!
Thats my Top 10 for 2014 so far ! How about you ? Have you read any of these ? Link your reviews of them and your TTT in the comments ! 🙂
I read a Sense of an Ending not long ago and we had a good discussion in book club about it. It was sure thought provoking and I never figured things out. Did you?

I certainly can’t claim to have figured it out completely ! Just when I think I have an air-tight explanation, a small detail seems to throw things off. But thats what I love about it, not to mention the amazing writing. How about you ?

The title is from a poem by Pablo Neruda. I would recommend it if you are interested in knowing the history of the region through the author’s personal accounts.
Thanks for stopping by ! I’m heading there now 🙂

Thanks! The author’s humourous perspective of the ad world and she has herself been in the industry for many years. Its quite good – a light read full of wit and puns 🙂

I really enjoyed Sense of an Ending. It’s compact, but I feel as if it’s a book that therefore be read a few times. I haven’t written about it on my blog, but I did write a piece about it a couple of years ago: https://www.curatormagazine.com/tag/the-sense-of-an-ending/

Thank you so much for sharing it with me – it was a wonderful article. I couldn’t agree with you more. I guess as readers, we are so used to certain formats, being spoonfed endings and having everything spelt out that this book catches us off guard. I’ll admit, even I was quite surprised when I reached the end but then I re-read certain sections and it slowly grew on me. I too loved Tony’s matter-of-fact view of things, my favourite being “what possible evolutionary purpose could nostalgia serve ?” 🙂 If you find time, please check out my blog post on it.

To Kill a Mockingbird is wonderful! The movie and the book are just amazing.
I wasn’t a huge fan of Deja Dead, but my dad thought it was great. I do love Bones (the TV show) though. I read it so long ago now, it’s a little scary!

I haven’t seen the movie yet but hope I do soon. I wasn’t all that captivated by Deja Dead either – a lot of the plot twists just seemed too convenient to be there. And how completely different it was from Bones was itself quite surprising.

Gregory Peck is an absolute god, you couldn’t cast Atticus better!
I honestly don’t remember all that much about Deja Dead, just that I really expected it to be more than it was. Perhaps the series picks up? I know one of the others was on a bestseller list when I was working in a bookshop. Temperance was nothing like Bones! I guess they made it sexy for TV 😉

I guess so ! They changed a whole lot 😀 Maybe the series does but given my current TBR pile I don’t think I want to go back for more Kathy Reichs. That itself says a lot doesn’t it ?
